West Grove & Avondale Fire Companies Approve Historic Merger

At a meeting held this past weekend, the members of the AFC and WGFC approved a plan to merge the two fire companies into a single unified department. The new, as-yet-to-be-named fire company will continue to serve the same ten municipalities and operate from the existing four fire stations. It is expected to take the next year to complete the merger. For more details, please read the attached press release.

Members of the steering committee included: Guy Swift, Sam Ianni, Beth Decker, Steve Cole, Steve Nuse, Henry Schlimme, Matt Bessicks, Neil Vaughn, Dave Talley, Josh Hawk, Eric Felker, Garry Vinnacombe, Kate Doochack.
Avondale & West Grove Fire Companies have agreed to merge and form a new fire department.
