On Sunday, May 3 at 1:07am, when Carolyn Haines experienced experienced sudden cardiac arrest, her husband Rob knew exactly what to do. He called 911 and started CPR. What transpired on in London Grove feels like a miracle, but actually was the result of a well-trained family member combined with a strong emergency response system. And Carolyn is alive and well, and telling her story.
A new fire department, formed from the coming merger of the West Grove and Avondale Fire Companies, launched an informational website today which can be found at www.sccfr.org . The new fire department will be known as Southern Chester County Fire Rescue. The transition is expected to be completed, with full operations beginning as a unified department, on January 1, 2027.

WGFC Ladder 22 is set up during driver/operator training at the County Training Campus.

This car overturned on London Grove Road one of several crashes handled by the WGFC Wednesday.
West Grove Fire Company responders were busy with a series of auto crashes yesterday.
The first was at 6:23am on the Route 1 Bypass in Penn Township with reports of a tractor trailer on its side. This call had no injuries.

West Grove firefighters were on hand to support kids participating in the Healthy Kids Running Series, an event held at the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Franklin Township.
