| On May 17, from 0700 hours to 1500 hours, Rescue 22 housed at Station 21 for a standby. Station 21 was at the West Chester Fire Training Facility for the day doing a Structural Burn Session which several of the members and fire apparatus attended, placing Union Fire Company No. 1 out of service for the day.
The day started out with zero calls, then at 1316 Rescue 22 was dispatched for an Automatic Fire Alarm. Rescue 22's crew got all suited up and jumped into the truck and responded to the call.
Upon Rescue 22's arrival, a smoke condition was found; however, the homeowner had already opened several windows and doors to air the house out. The crew did a quick search with the Thermal Imaging Camera around the stove and found nothing. Chief 22 radioed to Chester County Fire Board that the alarm was due to unattended cooking and Rescue 22 would be returning available.
At 1500 hours, Rescue 22 was released and Lancaster Engine 5-1-1 (Bart Township) took over covering until Station 21 members returned from their Burn Session. |
