Some eggs did not survive the 75' drop from Ladder 22 during the AG Middle Schools annual egg drop science class project.
Each student team creates a container for the egg -- all of them are very different, and some are more effective than others.
Students gather to watch their containers try to survive the long fall from Ladder 22.
Yeah, it's a ways up there.
Lt. Skyler Benasutti rode the very tip of the ladder to release the egg packages over 2.5 hours on a windy, cold day.
Ladder 22 is set up in the AG Middle School parking lot to facilitate dropping home made egg containers as part of an annual science class competition.

When the Avon Grove Middle School needs a ladder company assist, they turn to the West Grove Fire Company.
Each fall, the science class at the Middle School is given a physics challenge -- design a container to protect an egg from a long fall. Eventually, after a number of preliminary rounds, teams are given a chance to "win" the competition by trying to protect an egg from a long fall -- in this case, from the top of Ladder 22 in the parking lot.
On Thursday, several classes had their egg containers tested from about 75 feet above the ground. Not all of the eggs survived, but the students learned some valuable lessons about physics, materials and the laws of gravity.
As always, all of us at the WGFC are grateful for a chance to participate in the students' education.
