Why did you join the fire department?

I joined the fire department after seeing the advertisement on television Help Fight Fire - I figured as an ex-soccer player it was a good way to keep fit, be motivated to stay fit and help my community

What are your hobbies and/or interests outside of the fire department?

I enjoy hanging out with my family. I am originally from England so one of my hobbies/interests is watching Premier League Soccer. I also enjoy watching my son play baseball. I like to travel and enjoy being on the beach or in a swimming pool.

What do you like best about being part of the fire department?

I like the camaraderie best - if you truly want to know who has your back be on the fire ground with someone. The friendships you make extend beyond your own fire company. It is a brotherhood and a sisterhood - having spent several hours at the Chester County Fire School I have got to know several fire fighters from our neighboring stations. I also like the fact that you can keeping challenging yourself by going to classes and sitting exams at the fire academy - there is no limit to what you can learn.

What is your most memorable incident?

I have many memorable incidents but I think the most memorable was the first time I was handed the "O" cutter to extract someone out of an upside down vehicle
