This past Monday night, 19 WGFC members gathered at Station 222 in London Britain Township to start a two part Rope Rescue training program. Leading this training is Delaware State Fire Instructors, Darryl Meade and Bruce Galloway. Monday night's session included a knot tying review of commonly used fire service knots. Followed by a demonstration of the MPD (Multi Purpose Device) which is a single device that functions as a lowering device, a safety, and a mechanical advantage system (3:1;5:1). The final objective covered was patient packaging using a stokes basket then using the MPD to perform a low angle stokes basket descent and raise.
