Tuesday afternoon proved busy for the West Grove Fire Company, with units responding to an auto crash and a fire.
At 1:41pm, crews responded to an auto crash at Route 41 and Mosquito Lane in London Grove Township. Crews found a two vehicle crash in the middle of the roadway, with Engine 22-1, Ladder 22, Rescue 22, the ambulances and fire police responding. WGFC personnel made use of rescue tools to pop the door on one vehicle to help one patient get out of the car. Crews were on scene for approximately one hour.
At 5:30pm, the Chester County 911 Center took calls reporting a volume of smoke and fire in the vicinity of Route 841 and the US Route 1 Bypass. The fire company was dispatched for a "fire / type unknown." The first in officer, a WGFC Assistant Chief, reported a shed that was fully involved in fire located on Meetinghouse Road (which runs adjacent to Route 841) in West Grove Borough. At that point, the call was re-dispatched for a shed fire with additional units requested.
Engine 22-1 and Tanker 22 both responded from the nearby Station 22 and arrived at Meetinghouse Road together. Engine 22-1 laid a five-inch supply line form the Harmony Road intersection and proceeded to the scene. There they deployed an attack line and quickly got water on the fire, with Tanker 22 available for water supply. Engine 22-1's crew made quick work of the fire, with the response held to the engine and tanker, with other units being recalled.
WGFC personnel were on scene about an hour on the fire call. |
