A two vehicle crash was reported with entrapment at the intersection of West Avondale and School Roads in New London Township on Sunday afternoon.
At 12:52 pm, the West Grove Fire Company was dispatched for a crash with a report of a vehicle overturned. As first responders began to respond, the emergency call was upgraded to entrapment based on additional 911 caller information. The upgrade added paramedics from Medic 94 to the call.
WGFC responded with Engine 22-1, Engine 22-3, Rescue 22, an ambulance and fire police. Very quickly, dispatchers relayed additional information indicating that there was no longer entrapment. Engine 1 went on location to report one vehicle on its side at the intersection and a second vehicle about 50 yards further down Avondale Road.
WGFC EMTs evaluated all of the potential patients, none of whom required transport to the hospital. WGFC fire police handled traffic in one lane on Avondale Road, with School Road closed during the 45 minutes units were on the scene.
