January 2, 2024

At the recent monthly meeting of the West Grove Fire Company, dozens of volunteers were honored for their ongoing service to WGFC, with two members highlighted for significant and notable service.

Membership Secretary Kim Miller read off a list of members and presented pins to nearly 60 individuals, whose service to the fire company and the community ranged from 5 years to more than 60 years. The fire company regularly recognizes service as volunteers progress in five year increments.

Two volunteers received special recognition:

WGFC member, local businessman, and community servant Chuck Freese of West Grove was presented his 50-year pin as a member of the company for a half-century, a status he achieved in 2023. Chuck is an active participant in emergency services, serving as Emergency Management Coordinator for multiple townships and the Borough of West Grove, as well as an original charter member of the Avon Grove Regional Emergency Management organization, and a member of the Board of Directors of SCCEMS (Medic 94).

Craig Miller was declared as "life active" meaning he has served the fire company as a volunteer for 25 continuous years as an active member (designated by emergency call volume and meeting participation). Craig not only is an active first responder, he serves as both a line and an administrative officer of the fire company as Captain of the Fire Police and as a Trustee.
