At 0413 hours Kennett Fire Company along with Longwood, Avondale, and Hockessin Fire Company's were dispatched to a dwelling in the 500 block of Creek Road. Chief 24 arrived on location at 0422 hours with heavy fire showing. Soon after Chief 24's initial report he requested a fire alarm tanker task force.

This request added five tankers from station 21, 22, 23, 39, New Castle County 19 and two engines from station 36 and an engine from station 21. Tanker 22 arrived on scene and unloaded one tank of water into Tanker 24. Engine 36 had set up a fill site at Twin Creek Road and McFarland Road to fill tankers.

Tanker 22 was released from the scene at 0610hours.
