In a special ceremony Saturday, Patrolman First Class Joseph Cooper was honored for his service to the greater community as a police officer with the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department.
A retirement walk-out ceremony was held for Officer Cooper at the SCC Regional Police Department in New Garden Township as he walked in front of an honor guard of police officers and first responders and made a final radio call. For many of us who know of Officer Cooper, we know he displayed the attributes that make great police officers - honor, service to the community, respect for the law -- and he was also a very good man...friend to many and always watching out for the residents of this area.
The WGFC was honored to be invited to the ceremony and stand with other first responders in honoring this outstanding officer of the law. We wish him the best.
