Members Appreciation Night -- First Responders Honored
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

December 9, 2023

The West Grove Fire Company took time out recently to hold a "Members' Appreciation Night" to celebrate the organization's successful 2023 and honor some first responders.

The event was held at Blondes & Brewnettes Brewery in West Grove with more than 90 in attendance. The event was scheduled to include watching the Eagles - 49ers football game, and while it was not a great game for the local team, the party was a big success. First responders and their guesst enjoyed good food and drink, and there was a robust collection of door prizes for those in attendance.

At the event, members who achieved Top-10 Responders were acknowledged, including Tom Glass, Dan Ford, Rob Burns, Tony Flores, Tom Webb, Ben Webb, John Aguilar, Marc Crusemire, Craig Miller and Danny O'Connell. Tom had the most responses in 2023 with 486 - an amazing feat. Also acknowledged were volunteers with the most hours at in-station duty crews Dale Glatfelter, Ben Webb, Danny O'Connell, Zach Felker, Matt Wood, Skyler Benasutti, Jack Wharry, Tom Webb, Matthew Glass, and Will Ginn. Dale led all with 164.5 hours of on-station duty crew time.

Also honored by Fire Chief Eric Felker was past-Chief Justin Gattorno for his many accomplishments during his tenure as Fire Chief. He also heaped praise upon Lisa Glass, who once again this year led the company's Fire Safety and Prevention program in the schools and is well known in the community as "Firefighter Lisa".

The Fire Company thanks the owners of Blondes & Brewnettes for a great job in hosting the event, and also thanks the Avondale Fire Company for providing an Engine standby crew at Station 22 during the party.
