The West Grove Fire Company was dispatched for an auto accident today in Franklin Township. At 10:40am, the Chester County 911 Center received reports of a car crash on Route 896 - New London Road near the intersection with Den Road.
WGFC units Engine 22-1 from West Grove and Rescue 22 from New London responded along with WGFC ambulances and fire police. Ambulance 22-1 discovered a single car crash, reporting a car vs. pole, with the car in the roadway blocking the southbound lanes. While the ambulance began evaluating any patients, the Engine and Rescue crews secured the scene and notified utilities about a completely severed utility pole.
Fortunately there were no injuries. Fire and EMS units cleared after the damaged vehicle was towed, after about 30 minutes.
