Two different auto crashes took place in New London Township Monday morning within minutes of each other, keeping West Grove Fire Company units scrambling, making a mess of morning traffic, and sending several patients to area hospitals.

The first crash was dispatched at 7:50am for a two vehicle crash on West Avondale Road near Farmington Circle. Callers reported a person needing an ambulance, with light smoke from the vehicles. WGFC units were dispatched along with Advanced Life Support units from Medic 94. West Grove's Ambulance from New London was quickly on the scene, requesting Fire Police as the road was blocked by the crash. Engine 22-1 and Rescue 22 responded to the call, with crews controlling fluids, securing the vehicles and assisting both Ambulances which transported patients to two different hospitals.

Just a few minutes later, at 8:17am, West Grove crews were contacted by the 911 Center and alerted to a second accident nearby on Oxford Road near Linden Circle. WGFC units responded from the first call, with Brush 22 also making the response. An Ambulance from the Union Fire Company of Oxford assisted on this crash, which also involved two vehicles blocking the road.

Throughout both incidents, WGFC Fire Police, assisted by Fire Police from Oxford, had their hands full, with roads blocked on routes typically used by school busses. WGFC units cleared both calls after about an hour.

Units: Engine 22-1, Rescue 22, Ambulance 22-1 and -2, Fire Police

Mutual Aid: Ambulance 21-1 (Oxford) and 21 Fire Police, PSP A, Medic 94-1 and -2.
