Volunteers of the West Grove Fire Company dedicated a big part of last Saturday to cleaning up the Fire Company's apparatus.
After a long, wet, and busy winter season, West Grove's fire trucks were in need of a complete cleaning. The process, which takes many hours per fire truck, includes emptying out all of the compartments and cab -- which on a fire truck is quite a job since the trucks carry so much equipment! All equipment and tools got a thorough cleaning and wipe down, while additional members cleaned all the compartments as well.
In the cabs, vacuums, Windex and protectant were used to clean and brighten the interior which makes the ride more enjoyable and sanitary.
Once everything was clean, each truck was then re-packed with tools and equipment and put back in service. The overall process runs about 2.5 hours per truck, with cleaning taking place at the West Grove and New London stations.
Our thanks to the West Grove Diner and Pasquale's for discounted food for these volunteers, and their support of West Grove Fire Company. |
