On Wednesday morning just before 11am, the West Grove Fire Company was dispatched for an auto accident on Route 1 below Jennersville in Penn Township.

The accident was reported to be a crash between a car and a tractor trailer in the northbound lanes. A responding WGFC fire policeman found the accident under the Pusey Mill Road overpass with a car on its side. The first arriving WGFC ambulance added an advanced life support unit, Medic 94, to the call.

West Grove responded with two engines, along with two ambulances. WGFC Fire police requested assistance from Oxford and Avondale fire police as the northbound Route 1 highway needed to be closed for the accident. The road was closed from the Route 896 exit to Jennersville for about two hours.

While there was extensive damage to the car, the driver was able to get out on their own. The patient was evaluated and transported to Christiana Hospital by West Grove's ambulance and Medic 94.
