As part of its continued commitment to training, the West Grove Fire Company is announcing a special training opportunity in January.
The class -- Surviving the Job -- covers behavioral wellness, cancer exposure reduction, leading toward the future, community involvement, incident safety and fire dynamics, all important topics for the fire service. This special learning opportunity is open to emergency services personnel and requires pre-registration.

The class will be delivered by guest speaker John Buckman. Chief John Buckman served 35 years as fire chief for the German Township Volunteer Fire Department in Indiana, and 15 years as the director of the fire and public safety academy for the Indiana State Fire Marshal Office. He is the Director of Government and Regional Outreach for IamResponding.com. Buckman is past president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and a co-founder of the IAFC Volunteer and Combination Officers Section. In 1996, Fire Chief Magazine named Buckman the Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year. He is an accomplished photographer, a co-author of the Lesson Learned from Fire-Rescue Leaders, and the editor of the Chief Officers Desk Reference.

The class will be held on Saturday, January 18, from 800am until 400pm at Station 22, Walnut Street at Prospect, West Grove, PA. There will be a $25.00 fee per person, and the event will include lunch.
