The WGFC has recently taken delivery of a new 2018 Peterbilt 567, with a 3,500 gallon elliptical water tank, from 4Guys Fire Trucks. More than 25 active members gathered this past Monday night at the New London station to receive an operational overview provided by Chief Engineer Charlie Harrison. The training included reviewing new equipment placement on the truck, followed by a run down on the new safety features for the operator and crew. The second half of the evening was dedicated to setting up the water supply portable dump tank and filling the portable dump tank from different approaches. A review of the refilling of the Tanker was also conducted.

The Fire Company expects to have the new Tanker in service in June, replacing our 1990 Mack 3,000 gallon Tanker that has served the community well for 28 years. Driver training is currently underway, along with the final mounting of new equipment.
