The West Grove Fire Company was once again honored to participate in the annual Avon Grove Memorial Day Parade held on Saturday, May 28th. Although warm, Saturday was the nicest day of the holiday weekend. The West Grove Fire fleet was led by Fire Chief John Chambers in the company’s antique pumper. The West Grove units were followed by our neighboring department, the Avondale Fire Company. Both companies were proud to display the equipment they serve their communities with. The parade made its way from State Road down Prospect Avenue. It ended at Memorial Park where the community paused to say thank you to the men and women who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces. A wreath laying ceremony paid tribute to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The members of the West Grove Fire Company express their sincere gratitude to these veterans and their families.

It is at this time of year that we remind you that school is ending and please use caution when driving near children at play. With the nicer weather coming, be aware of bicycles and motorcycles. Have a great summer and be safe!
