The West Grove Fire Company held their 1st public open house on Saturday October 17th at the New London station. The open house concept was proposed by the company's Recruitment and Retention committee as a way to showcase the company, recruit potential members and to pass out fire prevention materials. Demonstrations were held showing vehicle rescue operations and another showing roof operations using the Southern Chester County Chief's Association's training trailer. Apparatus was on display, including our 1928 Hale (Elsie). The weather was cool but the event was well attended. We would like to thank the residents who came out to support us during this event. We would also like to thank the Recruitment and Retention Committee for all of their efforts in putting together this successful event.
