Fire Box - 19
At 0153 hours the Company was alerted to assist Hockessin (New Castle County, Delaware, Station 19) on a hay fire in the 6400 block of Limestone Road.
Engine 22 arrived behind Tanker 24 (Kennett) with Tanker 19 operating. Engine 22 crew helped pull hose line to establish a continuous water supply from Tanker 24, becoming the 'nurse' tanker, to Tanker 19 as taking an engine company role. Engine 22 supplied its 1,000 gallons of tank water into Tanker 24 and then transferred down to the nearest hydrant to be the fill piece. Once at the hydrant the crew established a rural water tanker fill site using hose and valves from Engine 22. Crews filled Chester County Tankers 25 & 36 ten times before the fire was placed under control. Engine 22 cleared the scene at 0550 hours. |
