WGFC's 1928 Hale was prominently displayed at the first annual Keystone Firefighter Conference being held this weekend at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

Known as Elsie, Antique 22 was specifically invited by conference organizers, as she was originally manufactured by Hale at their original headquarters in nearby Conshohocken, PA, very close by to the KFC2015 event site. In addition, Elsie has become fairly well known as a special antique from this area, haven recently been featured in the July 4th parade in Philadelpha, and the only antique displayed last year at the world largest firefighting show -- the FDIC Show in Indianapolis.

In addition to the static display along side new apparatus and modern firefighting tools and equipment, Elsie was judged by experts who selected the WGFC antique as 3rd best among the "oldest motorized apparatus department owned," and 2nd best "motorized apparatus, 1900-1930, department owned.

"All of us continue to be proud to represent the West Grove Fire Company on a regional and national scale," said Bill Wohl, chairman of the Antique 22 committee. "Elsie continues to be seen as one of the nation's premier antique fire trucks, something all residents of the greater West Grove community can be very proud about."
