Fire Box - 2201

At 2000 hours the Company was alerted for a chimney fire to the right of 37 Townview Drive in the southeast section of West Grove Borough. Caller reported they could see flames from the top of a neighbors chimney. Deputy 22 was first to arrive to correct the address to 26 Townview drive and stated he had a 2 story, middle of the row townhouse with conditions appearing normal from the exterior.

Engine 12 with a crew of 5 followed by Ladder 22 with a crew of 4 all made the response. Engine 22 and Squad 32 each with one followed up. Deputy 22 took over the Operations Section while Assistant 22 assumed 'Townview Command'. Deputy ordered the Ladder to take a position on side A, send the main to the roof and have a crew go interior to investigate. Once inside the crew removed all wood material from the firebox and checked the area with the Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC). Engine 22 arrived and took the first due engine company role and nosed into the hydrant in the middle of the block and provided scene lighting. Engine 12 was next arriving and the crew went to the roof to begin inspection of the chimney. Once the cap was removed the crew communicated that the flue was clear.

With that being stated the crews began to pick up and all units cleared within an hour of being in service.
