Just before 11:00pm on Thanksgiving evening, the West Grove Fire Company was dispatched for a motor vehicle crash reported serious in London Britain Township. Callers to the 911 center reported a possible victim unconscious in a car vs. tree crash.

The initial dispatched called for the WGFC, along with advanced life support units from Medic 94 and an ambulance from Newark's Aetna Hook, Hose & Ladder Company.

An ambulance from WGFC's Station 12 in New London responded, along with both units from Medic 94 and Ambulance 8 from Newark. Also responding from the London Britain Station was Engine 32, followed by Rescue 12 and Rescue 22.

Ambulance 12-1 went on scene first with a vehicle blocking the road. Engine 32 arrived to assist the ambulance, and began to secure the vehicle, with Chief 22 going on scene to establish Chambers Rock Command. Engine 32 began operations with hydraulic rescue tools to open the jammed driver's side door on the heavily damaged vehicle, assisted by arriving crews from Rescue 12. EMS crews were treating the patient as Rescue 22 arrived and Brush 12 responded.

Ambulance 8 arrived to assist and then was rerouted to a second EMS call in WGFC's district. Command reported extrication complete as the patient was removed 15 minutes after the arrival of the first fire truck on scene.
