Union Fire Company of Oxford (Station 21) invited WGFC along with other local Fire Companies to participate in a comprehensive fire drill at the new Vista Ridge section of Ware Presbyterian Village. The new complex consists of private apartments, a dining and entertainment facility. The drill was centered around a first due assignment for an automatic alarm which upon arrival quickly escalated in severity.

Crews were confronted with scenarios that involved civilian search & rescue, fire suppression evolutions, truck work, firefighter Mayday, EMS operations, water supply, and large scale incident management. Over 80 regional first responders participated in the drill, the evening concluded with an event debriefing and refreshments in the dining and entertainment facility. Lessons learned from the drill were shared among the participants to better understand the challenges this complex presents in a real fire situation.

Our thanks to the Union Fire company for this training opportunity.
