WGFC Assists Oxford at Lincoln University

On Monday September 29th at 1629 hours, WGFC was dispatched to assist Union Fire Company of Oxford (21) with a building fire on Lincoln University's campus. Cochranville Fire Company (27) was also dispatched for the assist. Within a few minutes, L22 and E12 were enroute. Dispatch information revealed that the LU Police Department was on location at the "Student Union Building" with an odor of smoke and light haze on the second floor. E22, R22, S32 and Chief 22 responded as well. Deputy 21 arrived assumed command. E21-1 arrived and took the rear of the building. E12 was assigned to hit the hydrant at the rear of the building. L21 was instructed to ladder the roof on side A. L22 was instructed to ladder the roof at the A/B corner. E21-1 and E12 crews went to the interior to investigate. L21's crew went to the roof. After approximately 45 minutes, the problem was isolated in the HVAC system. LU facility crews were on scene and handled the issue. WGFC crews were back in station by 1800.
