By Deputy Chief Justin Gattorno
September 12, 2014

Kidde in conjunction with the Consumer Products Safety Commission announced a recall yesterday involving some hard wired smoke and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms. Follow the links provided below to see whether or not your alarm is affected by the recall and if so what you need to do to get a replacement.

If your home is not protected by a smoke alarm please get one now. Early detection with fire alarms is the most effective way to save lives during a house fire. Below are some excerpt from the National Fire Protection Agency regarding the use of smoke alarms.

"Three out of five home fire deaths resulted from fires in properties without working smoke alarms."

"The risk of dying in reported home structure fires is cut in half in homes with working smoke alarms.
