Supporting each other in times of emergency is the at the heart of the volunteer fire service in America.

Such was the case on the evening of July 10 when the neighboring fire company in Elkton, Maryland was involved in fighting an extensive house fire. An engine from the West Grove Fire Company and an engine from the Union Fire Company of Oxford were requested to cover Elkton's Station 13.

Engine 32 responded from the third station and handled the stand by with Oxford's Engine 21-2. Crews were in Elkton for approximately three hours. While there, both engines responded to an automatic fire alarm to cover Elkton.
