Fire Box - 1201

This evening 9 volunteers took time from their Friday night plans and volunteered to help with a Boot Drive in New London Township. The location was at State Route 896 & State Road at the four way stop sign in downtown New London. This location see's around 12,000 vehicles daily according to the PennDOT's AADT Map, so crews spaced themselves out to give motorist a chance to dig for some loose change without impeding traffic. Crews stood in the middle of the road and generous motorists that passed by placed money into a Fireman's boot. Whether it was a single penny or a twenty dollar bill, anything for the support of the Fire Company was greatly appreciated. From 4:30 until 7:00 PM the volunteers collected over $2,400.00! After this event members relaxed their legs at Station 12 and had dinner all together. From everyone within the West Grove Fire Company we thank all the supporters that donated money tonight!
