Penn Township Motor Vehicle Accident

Snow squalls and cold temperatures marked a Saturday afternoon when the WGFC was dispatched at 3:49pm for an auto accident reported serious on State Road near Kelton Road.

Initial dispatch reports said it was a two-vehicle, head-on crash with injuries. Dispatched along with the WGFC was an ambulance from Avondale and a advanced life support unit from Medic 94.

On arrival, Deputy 22 found a crash as reported, and asked fire police to close State Road. A second BLS unit was requested, and then ultimately a third ambulance was also requested to the scene.

Ambulances 23-2, 22-1 and 22-2 transported a total of two adults and a child to Christiana Hospital.

Crews from Rescue 22, Rescue 12 and Engine 32 assisted the ambulance crews and managed fluid run off at the scene.

Units cleared the scene at 4:38pm.
