Annual WGFC Emergency Services Holiday Event A Success

More than an estimated 225 fire, EMS, police and other emergency responders visited Station 22 of the West Grove Fire Company on Friday, December 20 and enjoyed the Annual Deep Fried Turkey Dinner.

In it's 11th year, the event brings together those that are a part of the emergency services system in Southern Chester County for good food and cheer. What started as a small gathering of WGFC volunteers to experience deep fried turkey many years ago has now grown into one of the most anticipated days of the year.

This year's crowd, which was estimated to be the largest ever, enjoyed 26 deep fried turkeys, a 160 pound pig, chicken pot pie, mushrooms, kielbasa, several kinds of sausage, and all the fixings.

As usual, the kitchen crew started with a traditional breakfast of eggs & spicy sausage sandwiches (garnished with bacon). A large crew of helpers set up tables and chairs, put together the cookers, and began the 12 hour process of cooking and cleaning up.

There are far too many people to acknowledge for their help to put this together. But most of all, the WGFC would like to thank the men and women who work so well to provide fire, police, EMS and other emergency services in our greater community. We share a common sense of purpose, and a unique brotherhood that binds us together as both community servants and friends.

Happy Holidays from the WGFC! Thanks to everyone that helped!
