West Grove Fire Co. was dispatched to trees and wires on South Guernsey Road around 1404 hours. Once West Grove units cleared up from an odor investigation inside, they made the response to South Guernsey Road. EMS Chief Weir arrived on scene and advised incoming units that a tree is blocking the road and the sparking wires caused the woods to catch fire. High winds caused the fire to spread quickly through the woods.

Squad 22 arrived on scene and confirmed there were live wires down and the best access was off of Hess Mill Road. Brush 12 arrived; the crew pulled the booster line and started the fire attack. Rescue 22 arrived a short time later and crews assisted with fire containment and suppression. Captain 22 established South Guernsey command, with Lieutenant 12 as operations.

An additional Tanker and Engine from Stations 22 and 23 were requested to assist with water supply and man power. The fire was put under control 33 minutes after dispatch. West Grove and Avondale crews worked to put out hot spots, soaked down the area, and cleaned up hose lines from Brush 12 and Engine 22.

All units cleared and command was terminated at 1524 hours.
