| Monday afternoon at around 4:30 PM the West Grove Fire Company (12, 22 & 32), Avondale Fire Company (23) and an Engine from Union Fire Company of Oxford (21) were dispatched for a reported House Fire on Rosehill Ave. in West Grove Borough. After the initial dispatch West Grove PD advised that the call was actually on Rosehill Rd. and not Rosehill Ave. which placed the call in London Grove twp. Initial responders arrived on location with no fire or smoke conditions evident from the exterior. Engine 22 (Simpson) marked enroute minutes after dispatch. Once on location crews discovered heavy smoke conditions in the building originating from the basement. After conducting a 360 degree walk around of the house, Past Chief Simpson found that the crew would be able to make entry into the basement using an at grade door on the D side of the building. The Engine crew then stretched a pre-connected 1.75" line to the door on the D side of the building and made entry. Upon making entry the crew quickly located the seat of the fire in the area of the dryer and the electrical panel. Once the fire was knocked crews from 21, 22 and 23 setup ventilation in the structure. PECO arrived and secured the gas and electric and the remaining crews on scene assisted with minor overhaul in the basement. Deputy 22 had Rosehill command and Chief 22 had Operations. No cause has been determined, the incident is being investigated by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office. While operating on scene Rosehill Command was advised of an automatic fire alarm in the Borough. Engine 36 made the response as the cover along with Engine 32 and Brush 12 from the scene. Crews found a false alarm and returned. |
