| Fire Box - 2201
On Saturday at 1612 hours the alert was sent to West Grove for a lawn tractor fire in the 200 block of West Evergreen Street in the northwest section of West Grove Borough. Caller reported a lawn mower on fire and he could not get the fire out with multiple extinguishers. This brought Engine 22 with six volunteers followed by Engine 12 with three along with Ambulance 22-3.
Engine 22 was in the area and could see the smoke and under the direction of Deputy 22 the crew from Engine 22 arrived on scene with a corrected address of Harmony Park with one lawn mower fully involved. To gain access to the fire, Engine 22 used an access lane onto the soccer field and parked. The crew of six all with air packs went to work with two members pulling a 200' attack line, one member bringing up and extra section of hose to add onto the attack line and the other crew member brought various hand tools. The crew was ready for water and made quick work with 250 gallons to bring the fire under control within 3 minutes. Deputy 22 reduced the assignment to Engine 22 and Ambulance 22-3.
As the crews were in the process of cleaning up, a medical local was alerted in the 200 block of Chestnut Road in the west central part of West Grove Borough. Due to the call location, West Grove units knew the address as one of our own members; therefore both Ambulance 22-3 and Engine 22 along with Medic 94 made the response. Ambulance 22-3 transported our fellow member to Jennersville Regional. The members of West Grove Fire Company offer our prayers for a speedy recovery.
After the medical local, Engine 22 crew stopped by a nearby hydrant to refill the tank and returned back to quarters at 1655 hours. |
