MVC with Entrapment in London Britain TWP

On Tuesday May 11, 2010 at 1944 hours the West Grove Fire Company Volunteers and Southern Chester County EMS Medic 94 were dispatched to Route 896 and Strickersville Rd in London Britain Township for an auto accident reported with possible Entrapment.

Lieutenant 22 (Sweeney) was the first arriving officer on scene and reported to have a two vehicle head on collision with one occupant confirmed entrapped in the vehicle. Route 896 Command was established and additional fire police were requested to shut down the roadway.

Amb 22-2 (Foy Jr.) was the first EMS unit on scene and began patient care of the occupant trapped in the vehicle. Rescue 12 (Hannan) arrived on the scene and crews worked to stabilize the vehicle and began extrication of the patient. Rescue 22 (Shannon) crew arrived and assisted with extrication and set up for possible dash board roll maneuver to free the occupant's legs from the vehicle.

The patient was successfully extricated at 1814 hours and transported to Christiana Hospital for evaluation. Route 896 command was terminated and crews went available at 1830 hours.
