At 12:14pm Sunday afternoon, the West Grove Fire Company was alerted to an unknown fire, off Kelton Road. Chief 22 and Engine 22 hit the streets minutes after dispatch. Engine 12-1 and Brush 12 went enroute a couple minutes later. Chief 22 arrived on scene, reporting to Chester Fire Radio that there was a trash fire with an exposure to woods. Chief 22 asked Engine 22's crew to use the rakes and pitch forks off the engine to try to contain the fire. Brush 12 pulled in and set up near the trash fire. The Brush crew pulled the booster line and started soaking the area around the fire so it would not spread into the woods. With the fire contained, Chief 22 ordered the crew to put the rest of the fire out. A front-end loader was brought in to move most of the debris around, so fire crews could wet everything down. After the crews finished moving charred items around, a final soaking was completed and then the booster was packed back on the Brush. After minimal clean up, Chief 22 placed the Company available at 1:18pm.
