A West Fallowfield barn fire on Sunday night kept area fire companies busy, including firefighters from West Grove.

| The West Grove Fire Company assisted the Cochranville Fire Company at a working barn fire Sunday evening in West Fallowfield Township.
First dispatched at 9pm, the fire on Thompson Road was quickly upgraded to a working fire with 27's first arriving officer reporting a 50 X 100' barn full of hundreds of bales of hay fully involved. A task force of tankers was dispatched to provide water for the fire fight in this rural area. Crews worked well into the night, with heavy construction equipment used to break apart the burning and non-burning hay, as crews used handlines and elevated master streams to protect nearby exposures.
WGFC responded with Ladder 22, Tanker 22 and Engine 22-1.
