| 98 years ago this date (5/21/1928) West Grove Fire Company along with other local fire companies where assisting the Avondale Fire Company at a commercial structure fire in the village of Toughkenomen. During this fire a chimney fell striking and fatally injuring West Grove member Raymond Walker.
Mr Walker will forever be remembered by the West Grove Fire Company for his service to the community. Pictured are two plaques recognizing Mr Walker at the Chester County Public Safety Training Center and the National Fallen Firefighter Memorial Walk of Honor. |
