WGFC Assists on East Marlborough House Fire

February 18, 2026

Firefighters from the West Grove Fire Company manning Engine 22-1 and Ladder 22 assisted the Kennett Regional Fire Department at a working house fire in East Marlborough Township on Mill Road Wednesday at just past noon.

First arriving firefighters from Kennett found a house with fire showing with units from West Grove joining multiple departments from across southern Chester County and nearby Delaware at the multi-hour effort in supporting firefighters from the Regional Fire Department, made up of Longwood, Kennett Square and Po-Mar-Lin.

Engine 22-1 arrived as the fourth engine on scene, advancing the 3rd handline into the structure entering a window to access the fire. Ladder 22 was the second due "special service" and its crew assisted in opening up the roof with ventilation holes to help get smoke and heat out of the structure. Both crews assisted with extensive overhaul, followed by restoring apparatus to service and cleaning up. Crews were on the call for approximately 2.5 hours.

Crews from West Grove also manned an engine in West Grove to cover the district during the fire call.
