| Tuesday morning got off to a fast start with two crash dispatches within 45 minutes, both in London Grove Township. That trend continued into Wednesday.
The first call was early in the day shift at 7:16am on Garden Station Road with a reported car vs. tractor trailer. WGFC responded with Engine 22-1 and Squad 22 and the call included an ambulance from the Avondale Fire Company as WGFC's ambulances were on previous medical calls. When the engine arrived on scene, the crew found a heavily damaged car blocking the roadway. Fortunately the airbags and seatbelts did their jobs and there were no injuries.
Just 45 minutes later at 8:01am, the company was called for a crash near the intersection of McCue and Spencer Roads. There state police reported a car vs. a pole. WGFC responded with Engine 22-1, Ladder 22, Squad 22 and two ambulances.
Early Wednesday morning at 5:49am, the company was dispatched for a car crash at the intersection of Route 41 at Penwyck Lane just below Chatham, also in London Grove Township. The call was handled by Engine 22-1, Squad 22, and Ambulances 22-1 and -2 and turned out to be a car vs. deer incident.
Car crashes remain one of the most frequent emergency dispatches for the fire company each year. |
