One of the West Grove Fire Company's career firefighters has completed an eight-month training program, graduating this week from the Washington DC Fire and EMS Department training academy as a Probationary Firefighter/EMT. We congratulate Harrison Beauchamp on his graduation, and his assignment to the DC Fire Department's Engine 3 on the First Platoon and starts his probationary period next week where he will get additional training and hands on experience while working on a platoon of firefighter/EMTs.
Harry took a leave of absence from his work at the WGFC where he serves as a part time EMT/FF when he was called by DC to start the 8 month long academy back in February. He also worked as an EMT/FF at Longwood Fire Company as well as a volunteer first responder in his home town of Willow Street, Lancaster County.
Harry’s family and a few members of the Willow Street and West Grove fire companies attended the graduation ceremony showing support for Harry’s hard work in achieving his dream. Congratulations Harry from all of us!
