Fire destroyed the Hilltop Inn in the Fair Hill section of Cecil County, with the WGFC assisting Singerly Fire Co. of Elkton.
Numbers master streams were used to battle the blaze.

In the middle of the night, first arriving unis found smoke showing from the front of the Hilltop Inn.

West Grove firefighters joined numerous Chester, New Castle, and Cecil County fire companies in assisting the Singerly Fire Company of Elkton in battling an all night fire at the Hilltop in off Route 273 near Fair Hill.
The WGFC was first called on the mutual aid assist just past midnight for the original call, and then a second time at 6:52am to assist in completing the extinguishment. Engines 22-1 and 22-3 responded to assist with manpower on the original fire call with Tanker 22 part of the water shuttle operation. Later in the morning Engine 22-1 set up the water supply on scene supplying all water for the master stream and mop up operations.
