Area first responders worked as a team to get an injured subject from a basement below ground area at a home construction site on School House Road on Thursday.
West Grove firefighters and EMTs worked to package the subject who was found below grade at the new home construction site. EMTs from the WGFC along with paramedics from Medic 94 evaluated and packaged the patient, requesting firefighters to the scene to assist in removing the patient from below grade. Engine 22-1's crew used a 24' ground ladder to slide the patient from below grade up above the foundation, where the patient could be removed to a waiting ambulance for transport to Christiana Hospital in Delaware.
The patient was extricated in just 30 minutes, with crews working in very warm and humid conditions. |
