West Grove first responders joined multiple fire companies in assisting the Longwood Fire Company at a working house fire Friday evening.

Area fire companies were dispatched to the fire on Winston Lane in Pocopson Township at 8:13pm. Fire arriving units found a house with heavy fire from the roof. Shortly after arrival, command pulled firefighters from the building and an exterior attack using ladder pipes was undertaken. Ladder 22 and Engine 22-1 responded to the call, and joined with other first responders in protecting nearby exposures and then working on the second floor, and attacking the fire from Tower 24.

Units were on the scene for several hours.
