West Grove firefighters were dispatched for a car fire Sunday on Good Hope Road in London Britain. Station 22 was called for the vehicle fire to 189 Good Hope Road. Responding units were told by the 911 Center that a Suburban SUV was involved, sitting just three feet from a building.
WGFC responded with Engine 22-1, Ladder 22, Engine 22-3, Engine 22-2, Tanker 22, an ambulance and fire police. Engine 22-3 arrived on location and reported a vehicle smoking, and stretched a 200' 1-3/4" attack line. The homeowner had used a garden hose and fire extinguishers to knock down the bulk of the fire, and a tractor to pull the burning truck away from the nearby large building prior to the WGFC's arrival. Engine 22-3 crews along with responders on Engine 22-1 doused the burning engine and passenger compartments, with the assignment scaled back minutes after Engine 3 went on location.
WGFC units cleared in less than 30 minutes. |
