Opening day is a big deal for little leaguers, and the West Grove Fire Company was proud to be a part of that on Saturday morning.
Ball players from 20+ teams paraded from the former Middle School down Schoolhouse Road and over to the Avon Grove Little League complex in London Grove Township. There they were greeted by hundreds of applauding parents and passed by the giant American flag flying 100 feet above ground from the WGFC's Ladder 22.
The WGFC flag served as the official flag for the event's Star Spangled Banner singing, and it was a chance for many in the community to stop by and marvel at the ladder truck and meet first responders. WGFC fire police assisted by blocking Schoolhouse Road for the parade.
Our thanks to the AG Little League for the invitation to be a part of this memorable morning. |
