WGFC, Township Employees and Good Samaritans Work to Rescue Person Trapped Under a Mower

April 8, 2024

Working together with first responders from West Grove Fire Company, employees of London Britain Township, and an employee of a Hockessin business helped rescue a subject trapped under a "zero-turn" mower this afternoon.

WGFC was dispatched for an agricultural rescue on Mercer Mill Road in London Britain Township at just past 1pm. Also dispatched was a MICU from Longwood 25 (as Medic 94 was on other calls), which responded with Ladder 22, Engine 22-2, Rescue 22 and Ambulance 22-1.

When Engine 22-2 arrived, the crew was assisted by the Township Road Crew and an employee from Gravely of Hockessin. Together they quickly rolled the large mower off the victim, who was evaluated and then transported to Christiana Hospital.

Our thanks to the London Britain Township crew and Gravely of Hockessin for assistance on the scene.
