West Grove Fire Company responders were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash on Monday morning at 743am at the intersection of two busy highways in London Grove Township.

Responding units were told that a dump truck had overturned on the entrance ramp to southbound Route 1 from Route 41. Engine 22-1 and the ambulance went on location to report the dump truck had rolled onto its side, spilling a load of mushroom soil. Fortunately the driver was okay, but the ramp was closed creating the need to also close a turn lane on Route 41, with WGFC fire police handling that assignment. Other WGFC units were recalled, with Engine 22-1, Utility 22-1 and fire police on scene for about two hours as towing crews worked to get the truck upright and clean up the mess.

Engine 22-1 crews used some of the spilled soils to prevent the spread of engine fluids on the scene. Two heavy wreckers were used to get the truck upright, and the towing company then worked with the local mushroom soils company to clean up the scene.
