West Grove Fire Company volunteer firefighters were alerted at 2:17 am early Monday morning to assist the Union Fire Company of Oxford on a house fire on Fairview Road. Firefighters from multiple counties (Chester, Lancaster and Cecil) fought the blaze for three hours, at a scene where Oxford crews arrived to find heavy fire showing.

WGFC was requested to send two engines to assist 21 in Lower Oxford Township. WGFC responded with Engines 22-1 and 22-3, whose firefighters assisted 21 with overhaul, opening up ceilings and walls in the first floor bedrooms, and in the basement as well.

WGFC units returned to quarters at approximately 5:00 am.
