Ladder 22 of the West Grove Fire Company was called to assist the Kennett Square and Longwood Fire Companies for a reported building fire in Kennett Township at 8:15am on January 19th.
The WGFC was requested to be the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) - a team of firefighters who standby on scene for intervention in case of the need for firefighter rescue. After arrival, Ladder 22 was pressed into service to handle operations to the rear of the mushroom house, with the crew opening up and flowing water as part of firefighter operations.
WGFC's Engine 22-1 was also requested to standby at the Kennett Fire Company station in the Borough during the incident. Units were committed approximately 2.5 hours. |
